Long Beach Youth Activities & D.A.R.E.

"Officer Bob" Carambelas has taught the D.A.R.E. program in our schools here in Long Beach for the past 17 years. He says:

"Many times over the years I have had former students, who are now adults, come up to me and tell me how much DARE meant in their lives."
"D.A.R.E. makes a difference and is community-policing at its finest."

Currently, the Long Beach Police Department has only two retired police officers teaching the D.A.R.E. program to 2,500 fifth grade students in the Long Beach Unified School District.
